Daniel John Lawyers is a law firm that specialises in Family and Criminal Law. It was founded in 2011 by Daniel John Wabnitz.
Daniel was first admitted into practice in South Australia in 2002. He then relocated from Adelaide to Sydney upon being offered a position as a Judge’s Associate to His Honour Judge Roy Ellis, who at about that time was appointed as the List Judge of the Parramatta District Court. Located in the heart of the western suburbs of Sydney, the Parramatta District Court was and still continues to be one of the busiest courts in Australia.
During that time Daniel was commissioned to compile a book of criminal law sentencing precedents, which he finally completed after reading and analysing thousands of pages of court transcripts. He gained an extensive knowledge in criminal sentencing law, and gained valuable experience through observing the application of that law first-hand in the court-room on a daily basis. Daniel also compiled another book on Criminal Jury Trial Directions before launching out into private practice.
Daniel joined Van Houten Law in 2005; a specialist criminal law firm that was also based in Parramatta, New South Wales. He practiced in the fields of Criminal Law, Family Law and Child Protection Law, before accepting a position in Adelaide in 2009 with a commercial-based law firm called Townsends Solicitors. Daniel ran the Family Law practice at Townsends Solicitors until he established Daniel John Lawyers in 2011.
Daniel has continued to develop his strong interest and knowledge in criminal sentencing law. He also has a keen interest in highly contested Family Law children matters, especially matters involving allegations of child abuse. He has represented many clients in complex Family Law property and financial settlements. He is a tough, highly skilled and practical negotiator. He provides realistic, sensible and cost-effective legal advice.
Daniel is happily married to wife, Jenya, and together they have one son, James, who is aged 2 years. Daniel is an accomplished and classically trained pianist and a prolific writer of literature. He is the author of two books. He is a passionate soccer player and fan.
